'Tis the harvesting season


It’s that time of year, where the wine maker hopes for a bumper crop of grapes at the end of the growing season.

Towards the end of September and beginning of October, you’ll have your pickers armed with secateurs lined up and down each and every row of vines to cut and collect bunches of ripe fruit.

Carefully and caringly gathered into boxes, the back-broken pickers take the grapes to a sorting table where eagle-eyed staff will discard any fruit from the bunches that don’t make the grade.

Once the selected grapes have been transferred over to the winery, that’s when the magic starts to happen…..
