Long, penetrating and complex bouquet, with hints of spices, balsam and old leather against a background of ripe fruit. Well-structured on the palate, with silky, rich tannins, ending with some acidity which will hold this wine for a few more years yet. Excellent aftertaste, with persistent array of flavours that lingers for an age. Excellent with lamb dishes and chocolate desserts.
