Different 'Dutch Courage'

ByTheDutch-Gin-690x1024

Any true Gin lover knows that it's origins come from Dutch Genever which evolved from maltwine-spirits (with whisky-like malt tones), and is a distinctly different drink from later styles of Gin. To the English 'Gin-palate', Genever can be something of an oddity - is it a malt or a Gin? Admittedly my own tastebuds were a touch confused the first time I tried it. Now, that's not to say that the Dutch can't make a darn fine 'Gin' as we recognise it - proof of that is sat staring at me in the form of By The Dutch Dry Gin.

This wonderfully smooth, almost herbaceous Gin has a botanical blend of blood orange, lemon peel, bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamon, nutmeg, coriander and of course - juniper berries. The perfect serve is a bay leaf, slice of blood orange and good a quality tonic water, delicious!
