Costa Brava is more renowned for its sunny, wave- lapped beaches than for its wine. Just under 3000 hectares are planted with vines and most are owned by small producers. Using the local grape Cariñena alongside international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon they are creating exciting and expressive wines which are gaining in reputation.
